Course Description

Overview: 

Students enrolling in this course will learn the basics for creating and revising spreadsheets using Excel 2002. Topics covered include creating a workbook, editing text, formatting text, adding rows/columns, and displaying and printing options.

Benefits: 

After taking this course, students will be able to create, edit, format, and print basic spreadsheets using Excel 2002.

Target student: 

The target student for this course is someone who is comfortable with the Windows environment, and who needs to learn the basics of Excel 2002 for getting his or her work done. Although there are no prerequisites, a knowledge of Word is useful.

Performance-Based Objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Create a basic worksheet by entering text and values.
Work with cells and cell data by using a variety of moving and copying techniques.
Perform calculations on data by using functions and formulas.
Change the appearance of worksheet data by using a variety of formatting techniques.
Use a variety of techniques to manipulate multiple worksheets in a workbook.
Apply numerous page display settings to prepare a worksheet for printing.
